About Me

Welcome to my website, thomaswardwood.com, where I detail my work experience, hobbies and more. I hail from a mid-sized city called Richmond, Virginia where a deep seeded history from early America meets a newfound and growing culture of a modern and expanding city. From a young age, I have always been enamored with technology from playing with immature touch screen computers my father would bring home from the Department of Defense, to where I am today pursuing a career in Information Technology Management, working for CapTech Ventures, Inc. Not only do I find myself interested in managing and solving problems through the buildout of IT solutions, but also with photography, playing piano and finding new and old music.

As stated above, my father worked for the Department of Defense for 20 years, and would bring home old computers for me to play around with when I was a kid. He let me run a modem cable from our basement (actually a bomb shelter built during the Cold War) so that I could connect a phone line and be able to access the all-powerful dial-up internet. Fast forward a few years, and I now have a history of building websites and apps as part of many projects and teams from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and onward into my professional career. After graduating from UNC, I wanted to create a professional website that documents my experience, hobbies and what makes me the person who I am today. The tab ‘Experience’ showcases work completed on IT projects at UNC and beyond into my professional career. Tab ‘TechOutMusic Blog’ is where I write periodic blog posts on Technology, the Outdoors and Music. ‘Photography’ is where I upload slideshows of collections of pictures from travel or daily observation. Please browse around my website and take a glance my work experience, “TechOutMusic” blog or photographic portfolio.
